Year 10
Year 10 is an exciting and challenging time.  Students will have selected some of their subjects, although they will be continuing with many areas previously studied at Key Stage 3, and will be working towards GCSE and BTEC qualifications, knowing that every piece of work is important and will form part of the final grade.  It is essential for students to be well-organised in Year 10 and that increasing time is spent on homework in order to ensure that it is the best of which they are capable.  Parents can help in checking work.
In addition to academic subjects, there are other opportunities to get involved with activities in school.  Students can begin their Bronze Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, a challenge that will build confidence and will help with teamwork.  Extra-curricular opportunities in music, sport and drama are available.   Work Experience is also completed in Year 10 and most students thoroughly enjoy this valuable opportunity and achieve successful reports from their employers.
