Year 10 & 11

A Health and Social Care BTEC is taught over the two years of Years 10 and 11.  It is vocationally based, with100% course work. A first Diploma is worth 4 GCSE passes at C or above. We expect students to be well motivated, organised and be able to work independently.  They should have a keen interest in current health and social issues
Health and Social Care provides an insight into the world of Health and Social Care.  Client groups from children to the elderly are studied and their needs and rights are addressed.
From studying Health and Social care there are plenty of opportunities for progression into Years 12 and 13 to study a National BTEC in Health and Social Care

Year 12 & 13

A Health and Social Care BTEC is taught over the two years of Years 12 and 13. It is vocationally based, with100% course work.  It can be studied at Award level which is the equivalent to an A level or Certificate which is worth 2 A levels.  Students are encouraged to take part in placements within Heath and social care services to support their studies.  No prior knowledge of the subject is required, but we expect students to be well organised and have a keen interest in current health and social issues.
Health and Social Care provides an insight into the world of Health and Social Care.  Client groups from children to the elderly are studied and their needs and rights are addressed.
From studying Health and Social Care  there are plenty of opportunities for progression into work and it prepares you well for further and higher education.
