Year 10 & 11Diploma

This is a new qualification which teaches young people about the Hospitality industry. It is up-to-date and relevant, reflecting the blend of business, technical, interpersonal and project skills, an exciting, creative and enjoyable  way  of learning which is  worth 7 GCSE’s at A* to C  Grade

Students will:
• investigate the hospitality industry in the UK and abroad
• explore the importance of the hospitality industry to the UK economy and everyday lives
• carry out customer service tasks in a healthy and safe hospitality environment
• understand how people in hospitality develop their team working, manage people, communication, problem solving and entrepreneurial skills
• learn how to prepare, cook and serve food and beverages
• acquire an understanding of sales and marketing concepts, business and financial principles relevant to the hospitality industry, and legislation and procedures which the opportunity to develop work relevant skills, knowledge and understanding. 

BTEC

This 100% coursework qualification teaches young people about the Hospitality industry. It is up-to-date and relevant, reflecting the blend of business, technical, interpersonal and project skills, taught in an exciting, creative and enjoyable way. It is equivalent to 4 GCSE’s at C and above, it is awarded at Pass, Merit or Distinction.  Some students will study this course alongside a one day a week work placement and achieve a Young Apprenticeship in Hospitality

This course could lead to progression to 6th Form study of Hospitality, College or work based training.
